The quality of our interactions with other humans have direct and profound impacts on the quality of our lives.

Contained within this training are the things we didn't learn in school but should have about how to relate with each other.

This is a course that will improve the quality of your relating and thus, the quality of your life.

This is a course in skillful communication, in embodied relatability, in more profound self awareness, and in human connection. Connection that is deep, nourishing, intimate, fulfilling, vulnerable, life-enhancing and full of aliveness.

WHAT IS IT?

This is an immersive introductory training that will effectively impart to you the 5 guiding practices of Authentic Relating. It is designed to be practical and usable.

Authentic Relating is a growing movement in the United States that takes its roots from Integral Theory and Transpersonal Psychology. It is profound social technology that allows us to access more of ourselves and bring that wholeness to relationships in healthy, nourishing, and honouring ways.

You will leave with:

• A set of clearly defined guiding principles on how to relate more effectively that can be utilised immediately in all your relationships.
• A deeper embodied understanding of self.
• How to prevent relationship breakdown and resentment.
• The ability to know your needs and voice them to honour self AND others.

• An embodied understanding of how to de-escalate and transform conflict or challenge into closeness (total superpower!).

This training will take place in person over a full weekend Saturday/ Sunday, with an online integration session the following Tuesday night.

BUT What IS Authentic Relating?

Authentic relating is a modality born in the United States only a few years ago from a combination of Integral Theory, and psychotherapeutic schools of thought! It is new, it is revolutionary, it is practical, and most importantly it is accessible (Nothing too woo woo spiritual here!). It is grounded in the here and now, human to human messiness. Authentic Relating has been taught to corporate organisations, social change organisations, and even Pr*son inmates! It is only starting to come to Australia- you are the trailblazers!

Is it evidence based?

The content of this course is based on a combination of evidence-based psychological theories. These include Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic theories of human behaviour.

How is the course taught?

All content (theory and practise) is conveyed in session. Theory is explained first but then practically applied in games that you play in pairs or small groups to get a really embodied understanding.

Is there a Level 2 Course?

Yes! Once you complete this Level 1 course you qualify to join a Level 2: A Layer Deeper (6 week course) if you choose to deepen and hone these skills.

Now I find that the more I apply authentic relating skills to my life and relationships, the more my trauma heals. The more authentic I can be with others, the more love I allow into my life.”

Sophia has an Honours degree in Psychology and has worked extensively in counselling and group facilitation. She has trained in Authentic Relating with Authentic Relating International, Authentic Revolution, and Triibe. She has led courses in artful human relating for ART International and continues to broaden her knowledge in this field through a Grad Dip in Relationship Counselling.

Her aim and passion is to bring the structured framework of Authentic Relating into an embodied, practical way of being for herself and for all humans everywhere so that they can live more fulfilling, more curious, more aware, and more joyful relational lives.
