Hueco tanks Hike

Meeting Location: Hueco Tanks State Park Vistors Center
We will be hiking to Kiva Cave where we will enjoy incredible views of the surrounding desert and amazing pictographs inside of an unassuming rock shelter. While the hike is short, it can be strenuous at times with some scrambling and crawling into the rock shelter. The height of the entrance into the rock shelter is about 2 feet and opens up to about 6 feet. In collaboration with Texas State Parks.
Distance: 1 mile
Duration: ~2.5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Best for: 10 years and over
IMPORTANT: No pets allowed
Requirements & What to Bring
- 3-4 liters of water
- Healthy snacks or energy bars
- Hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers
- Hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses
- Light jacket and small backpack
