The Doña Ana Arch Loop is a natural-surface trail winding through the desert badlands of the Doña Ana Mountains near Las Cruces, New Mexico. The route features unique geological formations, including a natural sandstone arch and several small caves, set against a backdrop of panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Organ Mountains.

Distance: 3.2 miles

Duration: ~3 hours

Difficulty: Strenuous

Best for: 10 and over

IMPORTANT: Terrain is typical of the high desert, with rocky ridges, sandy arroyos, and loose soil. Please no children under the age of 10 years old. 4x4 is required to reach the trailhead.

Requirements & What to Bring

• 3-4 liters of water
• Healthy snacks or energy bars
• Hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers
• Hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses
• Light jacket and small backpack
