How to Invest with CYAN

Join CYAN for a relaxed, welcoming financial education session hosted at ATB Financial. This is a friendly, practical, and judgment-free session, designed to make investing and financial conversations feel approachable rather than intimidating. Think clear explanations, real-life context, and no pressure to already “know this stuff.”

Ideal for young adults and first-time investors. This is fully beginner-friendly, social, and skill-building. If you’re curious about investing or financial planning but unsure where to start, you’re in the right place. Drop in with zero experience and learn at your own pace.

Expect an interactive, conversational session led by a knowledgeable facilitator who encourages questions and discussion. Topics are explained in plain language with practical examples. Participation is flexible: you can ask questions, join the discussion, or simply listen and take it all in.

Location/setting

Held inside the Canmore ATB Financial branch. The space is modern, well-lit, and professional, with seated areas set up for learning and conversation. Indoor, calm, and comfortable.

About the host

Facilitated by Joanne Morgan-Smith, Branch Manager at ATB Financial, in partnership with CYAN. Joanne brings a warm, approachable style and real-world financial experience, helping participants feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence around money topics.

You are always welcome to attend CYAN events on your own - many people do! Our event staff are there to support you, and we often use light icebreakers to help everyone feel comfortable and included.

While CYAN’s programming is designed with young adults in mind, everyone is welcome to attend our events, except events involving alcohol, which are 18+ only.
