About this Event
Twenty-first Century Challenges. Next-Generation Solutions.
Are you interested in how we can all pitch in with Helping Our Planet? Get ready to embrace the quest for a sustainable future at the HOP25 symposium. Join us as we explore new approaches and engage new audiences in our effort to address emerging sustainable climate, energy, and environmental challenges.
Leveraging Johns Hopkins University’s legacy of innovation and impact, the HOP25 symposium is all about addressing some of today’s most pressing environmental challenges head-on. With an emphasis on the importance of interdisciplinary approaches, we will examine how best to integrate the power of science and technology through an inspirational and action-oriented approach.
Now is the time to build on the spirit of the United Nations’ Conference of the Parties (COP) and bring fresh energy and creative ideas to the fight against climate change. At HOP25, you will:
- Explore game-changing solutions.
- Connect with new voices.
- Strengthen global collaboration.
Together, we’ll turn innovative ideas into action and impact the shape of a sustainable future for all.
Symposium Goals and Objectives:
- Call to attention for emerging sustainable climate, energy, and environmental challenges and solutions, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches, integrating the themes of science, technology and solutions.
- Highlight AAP as a key institution with a long history both academically and as a contributor to and agent of change for public policy, awareness and understanding of complex environmental issues.
- Reach a broad audience (academia [including students, faculty, adjuncts], decisionmakers, science/conservation practitioners, NGO/advocacy groups, private sector, governmental agencies, interested public, etc.) to build awareness and understanding of emerging issues and foster collaborative efforts towards solutions.
This symposium is hosted by these graduate degrees within Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs: Environmental Sciences and Policy , Energy Policy and Climate , and Geographic Information Systems.
About HOP25
The acronym “HOP25” is an homage to the COP to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), emphasizing a shared commitment to sustainable action and global collaboration for the planet's future. We share the commitment of COP and similarly take a hopeful and action-oriented approach to climate change, energy, and environmental policy, engaging new audiences and exploring new solutions in the fight for a sustainable future.
