English Ivy and Trail Edging near Navy and Marine Memorial

The Friends of Mount Vernon Trail will be improving the trail near Navy and Marine Memorial

Volunteers may perform some of the following work:

• Using pruners and loppers to remove English Ivy
• Edging the trail
• Picking up trash

What to Bring:

• Water
• Gloves (We'll have some to borrow)
• Long sleeves and long pants

Where to Meet:

The work area is on the Mount Vernon Trail near the Navy-Merchant Marine Memorial. See the picture for walking directions from the nearest address.

You can park for free at Columbia Island Marina

COVID Safety Precautions:

• We follow current CDC guidance
• Work will be performed outside with room to socially distance

Group Volunteering:

We welcome groups to come volunteer at our events. If you plan on having more than 20 people come on a particular weekend, just let us know via email ([email protected]) no less than one week prior to the day of the event so we can better prepare supplies and promote your group’s attendance on social media.
