Explore with host Blacks in Green [BIG] the possibility of Black communities as beautiful, prosperous, comfortable, and joyous! Join an immersive Sustainable Square Mile experience: the convergence of heritage preservation and horticulture, classic architecture and clean energy, wealth-building and community resilience. Journey through Chicago’s Great Migration legacy community of Historic West Woodlawn where The 8 Principles of Green-Village-Building are implemented and sites are cultivated, including the Emmett and Mamie Till Mobley House Museum & Richard Hunt Sculpture Garden; Mamie Till Mobley Forgiveness Garden; Geothermal Alley; Bird Meadow/Affordable House as Garden; and Shrine of the Great Migration. Conclude at the Tourism Center Demonstration Garden for an intimate wrap-up with founder, Naomi Davis. Tour times: Launching Juneteenth ~ Friday June 19, 2026 – Friday & Saturday 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm; Sunday 9am- 12pm.
