We start the afternoon with lunch at a local venue. After lunch we head into a very magical outdoors space where we will will proceed to do Forest Bathing followed by some quiet time of meditation and journaling.
The theme is a simple one: to slow right down and practice using awe in our lives to notice the magic that exists in life and world, that sometimes we can miss until we slow down .
So this event is in celebration of magic and endless possibilities....
What is Forest Bathing and it's benefits?
Forest Bathing is a powerful antidote to the pressures of the modern world, proven to deliver lasting benefits to your physical and mental wellbeing, and creating within you a profound connection to nature. The Japanese practice of shinrin yoku, or Forest Bathing, is good for both physical and mental wellbeing. It is proven to reduce stress hormone production, improve feelings of happiness and free up creativity, as well as lower heart rate and blood pressure, boost the immune system and accelerate recovery from illness.Trees also improve our quality of life - offering relief from the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
📋WHAT IS THIS EVENT ABOUT?
A retreat is essentially time away from our everyday lives, whether we need a break from work or the children, or are recovering from a break-up or a personal loss. Whatever you need time off from, a retreat offers an escape to regain yourself, regain control of your life, and discover things about yourself you never knew. An afternoon retreat therefore is for those that don't have alot of time because they are busy or have alot of commitments but want to make self care and time away with nature, with themselves and others a priority. So instead of spending a whole day or several days away in a retreat, what is being offered are a few hours of respite from the daily pressures of life.
The aim is to:
- become silent
- connect to the body and hear what it needs to release and what it needs as nourishment.
- with the backdrop of nature as a healer and inspiration this will lead to attendees finding ways to deeply release blocked, unexpressed emotions and learn how to make space for greater health and vitality.
- This event is a sensory based event, which means that attendees are encouraged to connect with all their senses: smell, touch, sound etc... Attendees are encouraged to bring music that they can individually hear when journaling, or something like a feather that they can use to connect with touch, or a fragrance that they can connect with etc...
- With journaling the aim is to write whatever comes to mind: if you're an artist that could mean writing a song, a poem, or even sketching or just writing out whatever emotions are coming up for you....
As a , I will be running this 5 hour afternoon Retreat for anyone who feels that they would like to have an afternoon connecting to awe and noticing the magic that is life.
