Forest Bathing: a mindfulness & nature-based session to de-stress & restore
About this Event
Join us for a restorative Forest Bathing session in the ancient woodland of Beckenham Place Park. Experience a dose of relaxing and restorative nature therapy, that soothes stress from the body and mind. Enjoy slowing down as we take a gentle walk through the woods, stopping in glades to: do some breathing and mindfulness based practices using our senses - then chill out with a guided relaxation under the tree canopy. We end with a warming organic tea and snack.
Scientific research evidence shows that being in a forest or wooded area has a host of health benefits for our mental and physical well-being, e.g. it can: boost our mood, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve immune system function and sleep.
Your guide, Maya, (qualified with The Forest Bathing Institute -Complimentary Medicine Association accredited), has experience of leading forest bathing sessions for over 300 people (in Beckenham Place Park and for council staff in Surrey) and has travelled to Japan to learn directly from the pioneers of forest therapy. Her sessions blend scientific insight with authentic, traditional practice to create meaningful, restorative experiences.
