ENIGMATIC BURRABAZAR - FLOWER MARKET & HERITAGES ON WORLD POPULATION DAY

World Population Day is an annual event, observed on July 11 every year, which seeks to raise awareness about global population issues. The event was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. And what better place to understand the demography bursting with population.
Burrabazar is one of the old bustling areas of the city, thriving long before the British started consolidating their position. The river Hooghly played a dominant role all along. It will be quite interesting to walk down the Ghats to find out the evolution of this city and its associated stories.
Starting place: Sri Sri Nageshwar Mahadev Mandir (35, Strand Road, Kolkata 700001). The temple is exactly opposite Armenian Ferry Ghat.
