Many of us are aware of the traditional folk theatre called Jatra. It is believed that Jatra originated in Bengal in 15th century because of the Bhakti movement. Jatra is a quintessential part of Bengal's culture. The various offices of the Jatra group in Garanhata come to life again post Rahayatra.
We will discuss about this art form so deeply rooted in Bengal. We will also walk down the various places waiting to be rediscovered. Garanhata is one of the old areas of the city which has loads to speak.
