Emami Art Experimental Film Festival 2026

Fifth edition of the Emami Art Experimental Film Festival (EAEFF) is taking place from 22–27 September 2026 at Emami Art, Kolkata. Now in its fifth year, EAEFF brings together experimental film, video and artists’ moving-image practices through screenings, exhibitions, workshops, masterclasses and conversations.

This year marks the festival’s most expansive edition to date, with the open call receiving 1,657 submissions from 102 countries. The programme brings together an Indian and international selection alongside four invited international programmes, an Expanded Cinema Exhibition, a new Students’ Experimental Cinema section, and a series of workshops, masterclasses and public discussions.

A key addition this year is the Expanded Cinema Exhibition, which brings artists’ moving-image practices into the gallery for the first time. The exhibition features works by Arpita Akhanda, Kaddukkas, Pankaj Sarma, Solomon Nagler & Alexandre Larose, Ushnish Mukhopadhyay and Nilanjan Bhattacharya, extending the festival’s engagement with experimental cinema beyond the screening room and into an exhibition context.
