Join us for a screening of Uranium Derby on Wednesday, August 5 from 7:00-8:30 PM as part of our "Doc Talk" series.
“Doc Talk” is a limited presentation series on documentary filmmaking hosted by KHOI Community Radio in collaboration with the Ames Regional Economic Alliance and the Ames Documentary Film Festival.
Uranium Derby is directed by Brittany Prater, an Ames-based filmmaker and artist.
Film summary: A young woman’s investigation into her hometown’s secret involvement in the Manhattan Project triggers a chain reaction of encounters through which it becomes clear that the topic of nuclear waste has been more successfully buried than the waste itself.
Each screening is free and open to the public.
The series is supported in part through local option tax funds provided by the City of Ames through the Commission on the Arts.
