Join us for a dual screening of Light Painter and Urban Mining on Wednesday, August 19 from 7:00-8:30 PM as part of our "Doc Talk" series.
“Doc Talk” is a limited presentation series on documentary filmmaking hosted by KHOI Community Radio in collaboration with the Ames Regional Economic Alliance and the Ames Documentary Film Festival.
Both films are directed by Eric Smidt.
Film summary: Light Painter follows acclaimed Ames photographer Dan McClanahan as he creates his signature images, while Urban Mining explores a Central Iowa innovation turning discarded electronics into a valuable domestic resource. Together, these films highlight creativity, ingenuity, and the people driving innovation in Iowa.
Each screening is free and open to the public.
The series is supported in part through local option tax funds provided by the City of Ames through the Commission on the Arts.
