About this Event

Our tours are free to the public, but if you would like to support us then please consider donating to our charity The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF).

MEETING POINT is at the visitor centre car park.

Ford Park Cemetery (formerly known as Pennycomequick or Plymouth Old Cemetery) contains 771 burials of the First World War, more than 200 of them in a naval plot, the rest scattered throughout the cemetery. All of the 198 Second World War burials are scattered, 1 of which is an unidentified airman of the Royal Air Force. In addition, the Commission maintains 1098 non war service burials (on behalf of the MOD) and 3 French and 2 Russian graves here.

The tour lasts approx. 90 mins and covers about 1500 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground with slopes. There is wheelchair access.

Parking is available on site. There are on-site facilities and toilets. Please bring water if required.

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome.

Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.

The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
