Composting has many benefits. It is a natural process that turns food scraps, grass clippings, and leaves, that usually end up in a landfill, into nutrient-rich organic soil. Compost helps soil retain water, nourishes plants, and most importantly, saves money by not purchasing chemical fertilizers.
Join Ozaukee Master Gardeners to learn how to compost from a certified Master Composter. Find out what can be composted, compost containers and other methods, how create the right conditions for microbes to do their job, and the test to determine when it’s ready to use. This hands-on workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 25. There will be two sessions – 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the ,Kacmarcik Center for Human Performance, 885 Badger Circle, Grafton.
Registration is required to have enough supplies. Space limited to 25 each session. Visit https://www.ozaukeemastergardeners.org/ for registration link. This workshop is free and open to everyone who wants to turn their organic waste into “black gold” for their gardens.
