The heart of ethics is human relationships. Skillful and wise use of power is central to our work as holistic practitioners. Our power is role dependent. Power is relational energy and impacts all we do. The word power may elicit different responses for different people. Power is often felt to have a hard edge, implying a sort of one-up position or control over another. This definition of power is far too limited. Power either heals or is disempowering. This approach guides you into a deeper understanding and connection with your individual relationship with power and the impact this has on the therapeutic relationship. Understanding and managing the complex dynamics of the power differential allows us to offer wise and trustworthy care to those we serve. Learn to express your power with wisdom and skill.
