About the Event: The much-loved Joe Cocker erupted into a musical career which spanned five decades, a truly remarkable achievement for this fabulous singer who put incredible energy into every song he performed. Cocker reinterpreted classic pop songs and made them his own. Touring with some of the world’s best musicians, he became a household name. Cocker recorded well-loved songs by artists including the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, BB King, Leonard Cohan, the Loving Spoonful and the Box Tops.
This show features an 8-piece band consisting of enthusiastic and talented musicians from across the blues and rock scene in Southeast Queensland including: Paul Rea-keyboards, Mal Zego - lead guitar, Kristina Kellman - backing vocalist, Samantha Thacker - backing vocalist, Chris Shevelling - bassist, Andrew Engwirda - percussion/drums and Brad Allen - saxophonist.
The band is led by singer Bruce Bird - lead singer, who is widely regarded as having a Joe Cocker voice like no other.
The show, Cocker - The Man and His Music, celebrates Joe Cocker’s epic hits, unique sound and spectacular high energy. It includes classic hits from his Mad Dogs and Englishmen Tour back in 1969 and many more.
