About this Event

Bagas Fellyon

Cornwall’s fastest rising Nos Lowen Band

“A gloriously chaotic groove juggernaut! Bagas Fellyon (Cornish for ‘The Band of Fools’) experiment with and innovate within the growing Nos Lowen style of Cornish traditional Music.”

Bagas Fellyon is a collective of musicians brought together by the fiddle player Neil McMahon. Initially as a project to promote the album “Hitching Ships” by Cornish studio-based duo Fools Rock. Following this sell-out gig, the band soon took on a life of its own with its boisterous groove centric approach to Cornish Nos Lowen music.

William ‘Billy’ Pickin

William Pickin is a veteran folk singer and songwriter from North Staffordshire - he’s worked around the live music scene since the early seventies – Billy suffers from Tourettes which completely vanishes when he’s performing his beloved music – but his songwriting is outstanding including songs he wrote for The International Sea Shanty Festival Falmouth – ‘Jolly Old Sailors’, ‘The Privateer’, ‘Sailing Home’, he also wrote ‘William Billinge’ for the Peak rambling groups about a 112 year old soldier buried at Longnor church and the controversial song for Black History Month about ‘Thomas Corker’ the slave trader buried in Charles the Martyr Church, Falmouth. Billy plays in the band ‘Twangers & Bash’ and has done stints with Heymaker and Boneshaker.

Joanna Vyvyan

Is an 18 year old singer/guitarist who has been making quite a name for herself on the Cornish music scene whilst fitting it around her education – one of the stars of the International Womens Day Festival 2023 which also featured Angeline Morrison, The Eyelids, Mel Babb, Kana and the Jolly Strumpets, she has a great future, she is definately one to watch for the future.

Carn Brae Morris

Carn Brea Morris was founded in 1978 when it was an all male side known as Carn Brea Morris Men. Now we are a mixed gender side dancing Cotswold Morris. We welcome new members, both dancers and musicians meeting on Monday nights at Carnkie (Redruth) Village Hall at 8pm during the winter then dancing out at pubs around Cornwall every Monday night through the summer as well as other events such as this one. If you would like to join us contact Josie on 0777 596 3013.
