Contemporary Chinese-Canadian artist and curator Lam Wong presents three distinct publications that capture the breadth of his creative inquiry and his contribution to contemporary art discourse. Ranging from intimate responses to global isolation to rigorous scholarly examinations of photography, these launches offer a comprehensive look at Wong’s recent contributions to the art world.
"These books represent not just a collection of images or essays, but a bridge between personal experience and collective history," says Wong. "Whether documenting the isolation of the pandemic or analyzing the landscape through Jeff Wall’s lens, these publications are intended to foster deeper conversations about how we perceive our environment."
About Artist & Curator Lam Wong
Lam Wong (王藝林) is a Vancouver-based multidisciplinary artist and independent curator whose practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of Chinese philosophy, Zen Buddhism, and Western contemporary art. Born in Xiamen, China, grew up in Hong Kong, and moved to Canada in 1987, Wong’s work often examines the fluid boundaries between history, memory, and the act of looking. His diverse portfolio includes painting, installation, and public engagement projects that prioritize stillness and meditative observation in an increasingly fast-paced world.
Beyond his studio practice, Wong is a prominent voice in the arts community. His work has been exhibited extensively nationally and overseas, and he is widely recognized for his contributions to both art education and contemporary art through his art practice, acting as a bridge between diverse cultural and aesthetic perspectives.
