The 23rd annual Richmond Maritime Festival welcomes all to Steveston on Aug. 22–23, 2026 to explore the rich nautical culture of the community. The free, family-friendly event will feature a vibrant lineup of workshops, puppet shows, live entertainment, and a variety of food trucks. Headlining is Naden Band, the 35-member ensemble of the Royal Canadian Navy that was first formed in 1940. Visitors will also have a chance to view restored wooden boats and vessels on the dock and learn about their history, including the SS Master, one of the oldest steam-powered tugboats in the region built in 1922. Families with young children can also dive into hands-on interactive activities that pay tribute to seafaring, from flag-making and painting to knitting and crocheting.
The Richmond Maritime Festival is free for all to attend and offers fun for all ages. For more details on this year’s program, visit richmondmaritimefestival.ca.
