Climate-Friendly Homes and Gardens Tour

The City of Richmond invites homeowners to showcase their climate-friendly homes and gardens, and welcomes visitors to join the tour!
About this Event

The Climate-Friendly Homes and Gardens Tour is an opportunity to:

• explore Richmond homes and gardens featuring sustainable solutions that improve everyday living while reducing environmental impacts.
• speak with residents about the features they've incorporated and why they love them.

Participating homeowners will open selected areas of their homes and outdoor spaces on Saturday, August 22 and/or Sunday, August 30 to share their firsthand experiences with climate-friendly upgrades and practices. Visitors can arrive any time between 2:00-4:00pm and expect to spend 20-30 minutes per home.

This tour is designed to spark friendly, casual and informative conversations between neighbours. Homeowners will share what worked, what they learned and how these changes have impacted comfort, energy use and ongoing costs.

Contractors, Energy Advisors and other experts will also be available to answer questions and provide additional insight into sustainable home and garden features.

Whether you’re planning a renovation, looking for ways to reduce energy use, or simply curious about climate-friendly gardening living, this tour offers practical ideas and inspiration for every stage of the journey.

Note: When registering, please select the appropriate ticket type:

• Homeowners – For residents who would like to showcase their climate-friendly home and/or garden as part of the tour.
• Visitors – For those attending the tour to visit participating homes and gardens.

If you're interested in showcasing your home or garden on the tour, please register and complete the questionnaire.

2. Select the date you are available to showcase your home.

3. In the HOMEOWNER box, add 1 ticket and click the red "Register" button.

4. Complete the questionnaire and click the red "Register" button.

After you submit your registration, we'll contact you with additional information and resources about hosting the tour, and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

The tour will NOT take place at City Hall. Final locations, tour details and event updates will be shared with registered visitors and participants prior to the event.
