An Evening with Richard Neal
About this Event
Begin the evening with live music and fresh oysters, then settle in for a conversation with Richard Neal, one of fifteen artists commissioned for Under Construction: America at 250, the Art Complex Museum's outdoor sculpture exhibition marking the nation's 250th anniversary.
Neal will discuss the ideas and process behind his contribution to the exhibition, offering an inside look at how he approaches materials, surface, and meaning. Known for what writer André van der Wende has called surfaces "full of invention and the unexpected, tough and confrontational in their manufacture and effect," Neal brings a rigorous and deeply physical sensibility to his work.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Duxbury Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council.
