An Evening with Marge Tucker
About this Event
What does it mean to make something by hand — and when does craft become fine art? International award-winning quilt artist and instructor Marge Tucker brings that question into focus in this free public talk tied to her exhibition at the Art Complex Museum.
Tucker began her quilting practice with traditional pieced quilts and has evolved toward abstract, improvisational design — work that pushes the boundaries of what quilts can do and say. In this talk, she will reflect on the concept of craft as it relates to her practice and offer firsthand insights into the works on view in Quilted Visions: Ann Brauer and Marge Tucker, on display at ACM August 23 through November 8.
Whether you are a fiber arts enthusiast, a lover of contemporary art, or simply curious about the creative process, this is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the artist. Free and open to the public. Registration is requested.
