Alameda Little League 2025 Umpire Training

On Sunday, March 2nd from 8:30am-2:30pm, we will hold an instructional clinic designed to provide basic umpire training. No prior experience is necessary. The on-field clinic will cover basic positioning, making calls, and proper signals. The clinic will be held at the Alameda Little League Fields, adjacent to Wood Middle School. The clinic will proceed on March 2nd, rain or shine. If rain seriously threatens, we will make other arrangements to move indoors.

Additionally, over the course of four Wednesday evenings in February, we will hold a rules seminar (dates, times, and Zoom meeting info are listed on the Alameda Little League website under GAME DAY -> UMPIRES). All trainees – regardless of division - must attend the rules seminars, which will graciously be conducted by District 4 umpire training staff.

Separate on-field sessions will be held for each division. Please attend according to the staggered schedule shown below for the Division(s) in which you intend to umpire. If, for example, you wish to umpire in A, AA, and AAA/Majors, come for all sessions.

ALL DIVISIONS check in: 8:30am - 9:00am at the Majors field

Introduction and Basics - ALL DIVISIONS MUST ATTEND: 9:10am -10:00am at the Majors field

A Division only: instruction from 10:15am - 11:15am at Anderson Field

AA Division only: instruction from 11:20am - 12:20pm at Kees Field

AAA/Majors Divisions only: instruction from 12:30pm - 2:30pm at the Majors field

Shortly after the March 2nd umpire training, you may receive a written request with a link and instructions to submit information online to complete the background check.
