About this Event
Weekly Class
Nourish your nervous system with a slow all levels somatic movement practice. Perfect for those seeking conscious relaxation. All ages, levels, and abilities welcome - no yoga experience required.
Nourish your nervous system with yoga and tension, stress and trauma release (TRE). TRE is a simple technique that invites neurogenic tremors to release stress or tension from the body that accumulate from everyday circumstances of life, difficult situations, immediate or prolonged stressful situations, or traumatic life experiences (i.e., natural disasters, social or domestic violence).
The uniqueness of this technique is that this shaking originates deep in the core of the body of the Psoas muscles. These gentle tremors reverberate outwards along the spine releasing tension from the sacrum to the cranium. Eventually, these tremors will evoke themselves naturally in a rest position to reduce any stress or tension that was accumulated over the course of the day.
TRE® is being used by thousands of people around the world as an effective tool for releasing chronic traumatic stress, physical tension and emotional trauma. It is also quickly becoming a popular way to release the everyday stress, tension, and anxiety that evolves from the daily pressures of life.

The TRE is led by Aviva Levine, a Certified Level II TRE Provider.
Aviva's teaching is an exploration of the body’s ability to heal and transform. She will guide you towards connecting with your body through a practice that is intense-yet-playful. With compassion, curiosity and humor; she offers classes to help you move from struggle and limitation, towards freedom and possibility.
Finding comfort in movement, Aviva studied dance and then went on to play competitive Ultimate Frisbee. After a lifetime of physical activity, multiple injuries led her to Forrest Yoga and she became certified in 2011.
Her classes are an offering of the incredible benefits of simple techniques to heal; chronic pain, physical and emotional trauma, and injuries. Always seeking more for both her personal practice and her teaching, Aviva complimented her Forrest Yoga training with the Niroga Yoga for Youth, and Pre/Postnatal trainings. She is a Certified Level II TRE Provider (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises) and Craniosacral Worker.
Aviva lives in the Bay Area, and joyfully shares her ever-growing bag of tricks through private and group instruction. She is the Co-Creator and Creative Director of Breathing Room Alameda and Founder of Breathe In Love Retreats.
