Join us for a walk through the dramatic decades of the 1930s and 40s, a time when Art Deco arrived in Kolkata. It was the time when the Deco glamour collided with the tumult of the Second World War. The city of Kolkata was at the height of financial and industrial wealth with new ideas blooming in the world of art, politics and architecture. Art Deco in architecture arrived in Kolkata after sweeping the western shores of our country.
In this walk we will uncover the stories of the freedom struggle lying locked in the towering art deco structures of our city. Some untold stories as we walk down! The tour will be led by Adhiraj Bose of "Calcutta Art Deco". Adhiraj has been researching for a long time on these buildings which grew up in our city. Come and rediscover your city!
