For the past 40 years, York Hotel Singapore has brought authentic Penang flavours close to the hearts of diners in Singapore. This June, York Hotel Singapore brings these Penang Peranakan favourites to White Rose Café.
From 𝟭𝟴 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟴 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, join us for ‘𝗔 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲’ in collaboration with 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝘆𝗼𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴. Helmed by Madam Cheah Soo Fuen, mother of Jason Chan, founder of Jason Nyonya House, her cooking draws on the nuanced flavours of northern Penang Peranakan cuisine. It is a distinct blend of Chinese, Malay and Thai influences, with recipes preserved through generations.
This à la carte buffet showcases a robust selection of Peranakan home-style fare, including:
• Gulai Tumis Ikan Pari (Hot and Sour Stingray)
• Assam Prawn (Tamarind Prawn)
• Kari Kapitan (Kapitan Chicken Curry)
• Otak-otak ( Fish Custard Parcels)
• Buah Keluak Kay (Chicken Braised with Black Nuts)
