DBT Skills Group: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy is an evidence-based treatment for mental health. This group is will focus on the 4 core skills groups of DBT:
1. Mindfulness: This involves being present in the moment, observing your thoughts and feelings without judgment, and staying grounded in the present. Mindfulness helps individuals to become more aware of their emotional states and respond more effectively to situations.
2. Distress Tolerance: These are skills designed to help individuals tolerate and survive crises without making the situation worse. It focuses on accepting and finding meaning in the moment rather than trying to change it.
3. Emotional Regulation: This component helps individuals understand and manage their emotions. It includes strategies for identifying and labeling emotions, reducing emotional vulnerability, and changing unwanted emotions.
4. Interpersonal Effectiveness: This focuses on improving relationships through skills like assertiveness, setting boundaries, and maintaining self-respect in relationships.

This group will run for 5 weeks starting October 1st, 2024.
The cost is $250.00, which will cover all 5 sessions.
