Our 6th Annual 35mm Film Festival returns on April 17th-19th! We are thrilled to welcome Turner Classic Movies host Alicia Malone as this year’s honoree of the Lou DiCrescenzo Cinematic Arts Award. She will join us in person as we showcase nine classic films from the archival vaults of national institutions like the Library of Congress, the UCLA Film & Television Archive, the George Eastman Museum, and more. Each feature is accompanied with an introduction and an era-appropriate pre-show of vintage snipes, trailers, and shorts. The festival continues with a special late-night screening of ED WOOD! Our friends from Tannery Run Brewworks will be in the lobby selling beer for you to enjoy during the show.
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: Tim Burton’s ode to Hollywood outcast and B-movie director Edward D. Wood Jr. is a quirky yet sensitive portrait of one of cinema’s most eccentric players. Johnny Depp steps into the angora sweater of the famed auteur as he embarks on his journey to film some of his most wild and well- known works such as Plan 9 From Outer Space and Glen or Glenda. Stacked with a great ensemble including Sarah Jessica Parker, Bill Murray, Patricia Arquette, and Martin Landau, who won an Oscar for his sensitive portrayal of Bela Lugosi. Skilled cinematographer Stefan Czapsky’s work has never looked better, especially when showcased on a stunning black and white 35mm print.
