Our 6th Annual 35mm Film Festival returns on April 17th-19th! We are thrilled to welcome Turner Classic Movies host Alicia Malone as this year’s honoree of the Lou DiCrescenzo Cinematic Arts Award. She will join us in person as we showcase nine classic films from the archival vaults of national institutions like the Library of Congress, the UCLA Film & Television Archive, the George Eastman Museum, and more. Each feature is accompanied with an introduction and an era-appropriate pre-show of vintage snipes, trailers, and shorts. The festival continues with a special late-night screening of an essential John Water's Cult Classic- FEMALE TROUBLE! Our friends from Tannery Run Brewworks will be in the lobby selling beer for you to enjoy during the show.
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: In his follow-up feature to the shocking cult phenomenon PINK FLAMINGOS, John Waters reunites with his muse Divine to tell the sordid tale of Dawn Davenport, a juvenile delinquent unapologetically entangled in a life of crime. Full of John Waters’ regulars including Mink Stole, David Lochary, Mary Vivian Pearce, and Edith Massey, all coalescing to prove that “crime is beauty!” Campy, laugh-out-loud funny, and gleefully grotesque, FEMALE TROUBLE is perhaps the best film in John Waters’ “Trash Trilogy.”
