Details: Woodlands, big and small are often the forgotten corner of the farm, but regularly used more than you realise; providing shelter, firewood, soil stability, places to walk & observe, and so much more. Through this series of 1-day events delivered by Evolving Forests we will explore…
- Woodland health
- What you could be doing to assure long-term tree health
- How to derive income whilst maintaining growth and health
- The potential young woodland
- What to do with legacy woodland that came with the farm

For residents of South Hams & West Devon this is a FREE course. Application open to all, but participants from South Hams and West Devon have to be prioritised for funding requirements - which means applying does not automatically guarantee your place - we will be in touch with all applicants to confirm attendance.

Friday 7th August (rescheduled from 10th July) will be hosted in Broadhempston at a mixed broadleaf and conifer woodland being managed for commercial and landscape value in a mixed family ownership unit. We will also look at high-yielding Eucalyptus and is advantages and disadvantages to farm income diversification and close-to-farm woodland arboretum that helps to understand species choices in the landscape.
