Dla Lacana psychoanaliza jest praktyką i doświadczeniem, które dotyczy ciała jako ciała własnego – ciała popędów, a nie instynktów. Jest to ciało ujawniające symptomy, które w znacznym stopniu wykraczają poza wymiar czysto organiczny, pozostając zarazem w ścisłym związku z funkcjonowaniem narządów. Dotyczy to między innymi anoreksji i bulimii, ale także różnego rodzaju zaburzeń o charakterze lokalnym (takich jak impotencja czy oziębłość seksualna) oraz zaburzeń nastroju (depresyjnych i maniakalnych).
Podczas gdy współczesna biofizyka coraz częściej ujmuje człowieka jako żywą maszynę, opisując jego funkcjonowanie w kategoriach rozwoju, zachowania oraz związanych z nimi zaburzeń, psychoanaliza pozostaje wierna pytaniu o ciało jako ciało własne – ciało, którego nie sposób sprowadzić do jego organicznego substratu. Nawet jeśli współcześnie możliwe jest wykrywanie markerów genetycznych i ich znaczenie pozostaje bezsporne, to zasadniczą kwestią pozostaje tajemnica niepowtarzalnego sposobu wpisania żywej istoty mówiącej – a przede wszystkim istoty od początku mówionej przez Innego – w porządek tego, co Lacan określa mianem Wielkiego Innego.
To właśnie ten porządek uobecnia prawo pragnienia (désir) i rozkoszy (jouissance), podporządkowanych nieświadomości i językowi, a zarazem odmiennych od dominujących dziś ujęć neurorozwojowych. Psychoanaliza rzuca zatem nowe światło – wywołując przy tym konkretne skutki na poziomie ciała – na zaburzenia charakterystyczne dla naszej epoki, dotykające człowieka jako istoty mówiącej.
Wykład otwarty jest częścią cyklu „Logos, Praxis, Soma”, który odbędzie się we Wrocławiu w dniach 2–4 października 2026 r. Oprócz wykładu program obejmuje również warsztaty kliniczne, superwizje, seminarium dla specjalistów oraz sesję kliniczną prowadzoną przez Radu Turcanu.

Radu Turcanu jest francuskim psychoanalitykiem, psychologiem klinicznym oraz doktorem nauk psychoanalitycznych i literaturoznawczych. Jest Analitykiem Członkiem Szkoły (A.M.E.) École de Psychanalyse des Forums du Champ Lacanien (EPFCL-France), gdzie prowadzi działalność kliniczną i dydaktyczną oraz wykłada teorię Jacques'a Lacana i Zygmunta Freuda.

"Bodily Symptoms" – Public Lecture

For Lacan, psychoanalysis is a practice and an experience which deals with the body, as being a proper body, that is a body of drives, and not of instincts. It is a body that presents symptoms largely overpassing a strictly organic dimension, while being nevertheless intimately tied to the function of bodily organs. For instance, anorexia and bulimia, but also all kinds of local deregulations (impotence and frigidity), and other mood disorders (depressive or manic).
While the human being is more and more considered as a living machine, according to contemporary biophysics, in which the axes of its existence are the registers of development, behavior, and related disorders, psychoanalysis remains fully committed to this question of the body as proper, a body which cannot be reduced to its organic substance. Even if genetic markers are currently detectable—even indisputable—in this context, the role or aspect at play remains a mystery, which is none other than the singularity of the inscription of the living, speaking being (and first and foremost spoken), within the realm of what is called the Other.
Which is what presentifies the law of desire and of jouissance as dependent on the unconscious and language, distinct from today's overwhelmingly neurodevelopmental descriptions. Psychoanalysis sheds thus a new light—with concrete effects on the body—upon the disorders of our time that affect humans as speaking beings.
This public lecture is part of the "Logos, Praxis, Soma" programme, which will take place in Wrocław, Poland, on 2–4 October 2026. In addition to the lecture, the programme includes clinical workshops, supervision sessions, a seminar for mental health professionals, and a live clinical session led by Radu Turcanu.

Radu Turcanu is a French psychoanalyst, clinical psychologist, and holds doctorates in psychoanalytic studies and comparative literature. He is an Analyst Member of the School (A.M.E.) of the École de Psychanalyse des Forums du Champ Lacanien (EPFCL-France), where he combines clinical practice with teaching and lectures on the work of Jacques Lacan and Sigmund Freud.
For many years, he has delivered lectures and seminars across Europe and collaborates with psychoanalytic institutions beyond Europe. He is the author of numerous publications on psychoanalysis, Lacanian theory, and clinical practice.

Pour Lacan, la psychanalyse est une pratique et une expérience qui concerne le corps en tant que corps propre, c'est-à-dire un corps des pulsions et non des instincts. C'est un corps qui présente des symptômes dépassant largement la dimension strictement organique, tout en demeurant intimement lié au fonctionnement des organes. Il s'agit notamment de l'anorexie et de la boulimie, mais aussi de toutes sortes de dérégulations locales (impuissance et frigidité), ainsi que des troubles de l'humeur (dépressifs ou maniaques).
Alors que l'être humain est de plus en plus considéré, selon la biophysique contemporaine, comme une machine vivante dont l'existence est décrite à travers les registres du développement, du comportement et des troubles qui leur sont associés, la psychanalyse demeure pleinement engagée dans la question du corps propre, un corps qui ne saurait être réduit à sa substance organique. Même si les marqueurs génétiques sont aujourd'hui détectables — et leur importance incontestable —, demeure le mystère de l'inscription singulière de l'être vivant et parlant (et d'abord parlé) dans le registre de ce que Lacan appelle le Grand Autre.
C'est cet ordre qui rend présente la loi du désir et de la jouissance, dépendants de l'inconscient et du langage, et distincts des approches aujourd'hui dominantes, centrées sur les modèles neurodéveloppementaux. La psychanalyse apporte ainsi un éclairage nouveau — avec des effets concrets sur le corps — sur les troubles caractéristiques de notre époque, qui affectent l'être humain en tant qu'être parlant.
Cette conférence publique s'inscrit dans le cadre du cycle « Logos, Praxis, Soma », qui se tiendra à Wrocław (Pologne) du 2 au 4 octobre 2026. Outre la conférence, le programme comprend des ateliers cliniques, des supervisions, un séminaire destiné aux professionnels ainsi qu'une présentation clinique en direct, animés par Radu Turcanu.

Il est Analyste Membre de l'École (A.M.E.) de l'École de Psychanalyse des Forums du Champ Lacanien (EPFCL-France), où il exerce une activité clinique et d'enseignement, tout en dispensant des cours sur l'œuvre de Jacques Lacan et de Sigmund Freud.
Depuis de nombreuses années, il donne des conférences et anime des séminaires dans plusieurs pays d'Europe, tout en collaborant avec des institutions psychanalytiques hors d'Europe. Il est l'auteur de nombreuses publications consacrées à la psychanalyse, à la théorie lacanienne et aux questions cliniques.
