About this Event

Free Community Class. Show up, or pre-register here: https://ohanayogabarre.union.site/events/ohana-yoga-barre-free-class-yoga-foundations
Yoga Foundations is designed to break down stereotypes and barriers to yoga – no, you do not need to be flexible to practice yoga! Through a slow, gentle, and thoughtfully sequenced vinyasa flow, you’ll be introduced to the fundamental options and layers of yogic practices. These options are intended to help you cultivate a practice that honors your evolving needs – mental, emotional, and spiritual – in any given moment.
Perhaps you’re a former athlete looking for a new way to move? A young person looking to start a journey with self-realization? An elder who needs some movement, rest, and community?
Whatever your story or body’s abilities, this practice of yoga is for you.
The practice begins with a grounding theme and intention based on yogic philosophy. Through vinyasa (free-flowing) pranayama (breathing) and asana (postures), we build towards a peak posture that expresses the intention of the practice. We end with some relaxation through slow stretching, mindfulness, and rest to fully integrate our practice. This is an opportunity to connect deeply with yourself, your community, and the natural wonder of the world.
WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Intention + breathing (10 min)
  • Vinyasa yoga practice (30 min)
  • Mindfulness + rest (10 min)

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Yoga mat
  • Comfortable clothing that you can move in
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Open heart + mind
