Join our Yin Yoga Immersion this Fall. You will deepen your practice, bring balance to a busy lifestyle, and increase awareness. October is the perfect invitation to slow down, let go and listen within; all tenets of a Yin practice.
“Life is available only in the present moment.”
-Thich Nhat Hanh
Yin Yoga works on the Body, Mind, and Breath - when we calm the breath, it stills the body, when the body gets quiet the mind relaxes.
Yin Yoga targets the tender connective tissue, the fascia, while gently stretching the ligaments and compressing the joints in order to create more space and greater mobility.
Yin Yoga can be done by all types of people at all different levels of experience and flexibility because you are relying on your own body’s wisdom to let you know how far to go.
This 20-hour Yin Yoga immersion is for yoga teachers who would like to teach Yin Yoga or learn more about the philosophy and asanas. This immersion is also for yoga students who have at least two years of yoga practice, and would like to deepen their yin practice. All participants must have a working knowledge of basic alignment principles.
We will explore the philosophy, as well as the benefits, of this practice.
A certificate of completion will be awarded after full participation in the 20-hour immersion, teaching a practicum, and observing 2 Yin Yoga classes. This training qualifies as continuing education if you are registered with Yoga Alliance.

About Roxanna Kopp Smith
Roxanna is a certified Hatha and Kundalini yoga teacher who is passionate about living in the present moment and sharing her love of yoga with others.
She especially loves teaching Yin Yoga; a practice that highlights presence, deep listening and exploring physical sensation. Yin Yoga calms the nervous system and allows for more ease of being - both physically and emotionally. "In one year of practicing yin yoga, I was able to achieve results with certain postures that had eluded me after 12 years of practicing hatha yoga consistently. The deep stretching in Yin Yoga allowed my body to relax into a more limber me. Instead of firing my muscles in a vinyasa flow, and moving in quick, repetitive ways, my body lengthened and loosened, releasing years of stored tension and muscle memories."
