This wānanga is for anyone wanting to learn and practice kohukohu tara, either for themselves or begin their journey in supporting others.

🕚11am - 5pm (flexibility is advised)


♨️Her practice, grounded in tikanga, Hiramārie has brought together mātauranga and life experiences to implement kohukohu tara using rongoā Māori, herbal medicines and modern day equipment. Together, with Kawe Roes to share teachings in karakia and te reo Māori, this unique wānanga only has 15 spaces available.
Kohukohu tara is beneficial for anyone with a tara and/ or kōpū. Originionally practiced by our tūpuna to clear te ara namunamu, over time kohukohu tara has slowly been adapted to support the aiding of a range of ailments including held trauma, menstrual cycle balancing, symptoms of menopause, fertility support and so much more.

This wānanga is for anyone wanting to learn and practice kohukohu tara. Either wanting to gain confidence in supporting themselves or whānau or begin their haerenga as a provider to support others as this wānanga is designed to grow what you can offer weather your work is kōpū/ tara/ wāhine specific, general health, sexual harm or anything where kohukohu tara may benefit your comunity/clients. Although this wānanga does not give you a qualification, guidance on how to do this appropriately, will be provided.


🌿WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • The whakapapa and application of kohukohu tara.
  • Recognising and addressing ailments of the whole tinana.
  • Tikanga.
  • Karakia, takutaku, te reo Māori pertaining to kohukohu tara.
  • How to appropriately harvest and prepare wai rākau as well as herbal plant mixes.
  • Health & safety
  • Practice


WHAT'S INCLUDED:

  • All equipment needed to practice during the wānanga
  • End of day kai (dietary requirements provided for)
