West Oakland Tree Planting - Raimondi Park (Saturday January 19th)

This MLK Day of Service, join the Oakland Parks & Recreation Foundation (OPRF) as we come together to plant trees in West Oakland. Rain or shine, this hands-on volunteer day is about caring for our community, honoring Dr. King’s legacy through action, and growing a greener, healthier Oakland.

Together, we plant the seeds that unite Oakland’s communities and help keep the Town green.

We’re grateful to everyone who’s able to join us and show up for Oakland’s neighborhoods and green spaces.

*Please Note: Snacks and Refreshments will be provided at 9:30am (PST) under the green Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation (OPRF) tent.

What to wear & bring - day of event
-PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers must be registered via eventbrite and sign the following waiver form by or on the day of Tree Planting (January 19th, 2026): VOLUNTEER RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT - Google Forms
-Be prepared to get soil and other earthly residue on your attire.
-Suggested attire: Clothing you would normally wear for outdoor gardening (e.g., hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, close-toed footwear.
-Gloves and shovels will be provided.
-Bring your own water bottles. There is a filling station across the street.
Accessibility
-Look for the OPRF pop-up tent to register and sign-in for the day's activities.
-Please note: Tree Planting sites are spread out throughout West Oakland. Therefore, carpooling with other volunteers or driving between sites may be necessary for some volunteers.
-Volunteers will be lifting trees up to 50 pounds.

-Street parking is available in nearby neighborhood of event.
-0.8 miles walking distance from West Oakland BART Station.
