What: Pinewood Derby Annual Fundraiser

When: Saturday, February 28, 2026

Time: Doors Open 8:30am, Car Impound 9am, Races Start 10am

Where: KaiserAir Hangar, 8735 Earhart Rd, Oakland, CA 94621

Street parking available

Why: Bring the Alameda Area** District family of packs and Scouts together for a lot of fun

Dress: Please wear your Class-A scout uniform

Bring: Please bring a camp chair and wear warm clothes and a beanie as it can be cold in the airport hanger.

The Peralta Cup is a Pinewood Derby between Cub Scouts in the Alameda Area District (includes the old Alameda, Peralta and Tres Ranchos Districts) and Packs in other invited Districts.

Races will be held for Cubs by year (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Weblo I and Weblo II) as well as for siblings, parents and older Scouts volunteering at the event.

Ticket costs include time working on your car at the Montera Middle School woodshop on January 21st and 22nd, a custom, embroidered Peralta Cup patch, professional portraits of your scout (for download after the event), the races, and trophies for the winners. We will be selling lunch and snacks on race day for adults and other audience members. Cash and Venmo accepted.

Pinewood Derby scholarships are available for Cub Scouts. Parents/Guardians should email [email protected] to apply.

Ticket cost does NOT include the Pinewood Derby kit or weights. Car kits will be for sale at the workshop events for $12, if you need one (check with your Den Leader, some Packs give them to their members as part of their dues). We will also be selling weights as well. Cash and Venmo accepted.
