Turn everyday metal into a one-of-a-kind piece of garden art! In this fun, two-session workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of welding, essential shop safety, and basic metal fabrication while creating a custom piece of metal art to enhance your home or garden. During the first session, you'll complete an instructor-led project to build your welding skills while exploring examples of creative sculptures made from reclaimed steel items such as old wrenches, ratchets, shovels, and saw blades. You'll also browse the college's collection of scrap metal, discuss design ideas, and plan a unique project of your own. In the second session, you'll bring your collected treasures (along with any additional materials you'd like to incorporate) and receive hands-on guidance as you transform them into a custom metal sculpture to take home. The course fee includes safety glasses and the use of all required personal protective equipment. Tuesday, September 8 & Thursday, September 10 Fall Theme 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. • AMETA Center - Stevens Point Class ID#: 1020 • Course Fee: $110 Register at https://cecourses.mstc.edu/connect/ClassInfo/ClassInformation?int_class_id=1020
