Emergency Services Citizens Academy 2026

The Portage County Sheriff's Office, Stevens Point Police Department, Plover Police Department, and Stevens Point Fire Department are pleased to announce the return of the Emergency Services Citizens Academy in 2026.
The academy will provide a comprehensive overview of law enforcement and fire/rescue, along with tours and explanations of our services.
This year's academy will run on Thursday nights from September 3 to November 12, with two additional Saturdays scheduled. Dates for these Saturdays will be determined.
Thursday sessions will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday sessions will start at 8:00 a.m. and conclude early in the afternoon.
The Citizens Academy is a free event. Sign-up is open until August 1, 2026.
