In this workshop, you’ll learn how to warp a frame loom, practice plain weave and additional techniques, create fringe, and experiment with shapes, textures, and patterns. You’ll remove your finished piece from the loom and leave with a completed wall hanging.
Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, this workshop offers a welcoming space to explore fiber art and build practical weaving skills.
Students will learn:
• Warping a frame loom
• Plain weave technique (and more)
• Crafting fringe
• Experimenting with shape, texture, and pattern
• The history of weaving
Instructor provides all supplies:
• Looms
• Fiber
• Tools
• Instruction handouts
Students take home all materials to continue weaving beyond class.
About the Instructor:
Cecelia Hopes brings a creative background in graphic design and fine arts, with experience across fiber art, clay, and watercolor. Her teaching approach emphasizes texture, color, composition, and history, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
