Please join us for Dr. Emily Kader's discussion of documenting Watauga County's past through materials found in the W. L. Eury Appalachian Collection. Dr. Emily Kader is the Anne Belk Distinguished Professor and Curator for Distinctive Collections at Appalachian State University. Before her arrival in September 2024, she worked for ten years with the Rare Book Collection at UNC. She holds a Master’s degree in Library Science from UNC and a PhD in English from Emory University. Her areas of expertise are Irish and Appalachian narrative folklore, the history of the book in Appalachia, and teaching with primary sources.
This event will be in the Watauga County Public Library Community Room. Light refreshments will be served.
