About this Event
WABA is hosting our first Washington DC bicycling advocates meetup, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, 5:30–7 pm. We’ll be at the Pub and the People at 1648 North Capitol St NW. This will be an informal social event. Come by any time, but please register so that we know you're coming because venue space is limited.
This will be the first of a series of 2025 events around the city. Given the North Capitol and R Street NW location, we’ll talk about strategies to win Q and R Street protected bike lanes, DDOT’s North Capitol Street Corridor Study, the 11th Street NW bike-lane upgrades, Taylor Street NE and Fort Drive NE, and other projects. Let’s discuss FY26 budget priorities – DC Council budget hearings start soon – and the implications of the federal administration’s threats to DC Home Rule.
Let’s talk about fun stuff too! WABA’s 2025 Bloom Ride & Spring Picnic is coming up on April 19, and there are many other events on the calendar. For instance, Ward 5 Family Bike has a Family Bike Ride coming up this weekend, on Saturday, March 8, and DC Family Biking is publicizing an E-Bike Tasting Party, Saturday March 29, 1–5 pm at Alethia Tanner Park that’s free & open to all.
There’s lots to keep up with and lots to do, and we hope you’ll hold space for our Tuesday, March 18 bicycling advocates meetup at the Pub and the People.
