Two musical polymaths, Alex Meltzer (MLTZR, Electronics) and Machado Mijiga (drums), seamlessly blend live looping, sequencing, and electronic sampling with jazz improvisation. Together as Left Of Center, an electronic jazz duo based in Portland, Oregon, they push boundaries with experimental and interdisciplinary performances. Their open-ended duo format oscillates between ambient, groovy, and avant-garde sounds, offering ample room for creativity and cohesion.

About the Artists
Machado Mijiga is a Portland native and multi-instrumentalist who is classically trained, jazz-weathered, and eclectically inclined. With a diverse musical background shaped by his intercultural heritage, Mijiga left the creative "box" at an early age. He is a composer, producer, bandleader, educator, and audio engineer, known for his authenticity and unique artistic identity. His work centers on self-expression, with his medium of choice changing as often as the weather.

Alex Meltzer (MLTZR) is a Portland-based beatmaker, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with a background in jazz and electronic music. A member of the Portland jazz group Korgy and Bass, MLTZR draws on his jazz roots to inform his improvisational and collaborative approach to electronic music. His performances range from beat cyphers to live sets, using tools like the SP-404 sampler to seamlessly blend genres and create innovative soundscapes.
