9th Annual Garage Band Competition at Clackamas Community College
OVERVIEW
Are you a stellar vocalist sharing content online, a soulful coffee shop singer/songwriter, a rockin' garage band, or part of a student ensemble at school? You are invited to perform and compete in CCC's Garage Band Competition, Friday, April 18th, 2025. High school and college students play for a panel of judges and industry pros for valuable critiques and performing experience. All styles of music welcome, including original music and covers. Event is open to the public.
PRIZES
High school students perform and compete to win CCC scholarships and FREE studio time in CCC's recording studio. See FAQ section for details.
CATEGORIES
Our competition categories this year are:
- Bands - any style of music, playing covers or original music
- Songwriters - any style of music, soloists or duos welcome with original music
- The Voice - vocalist showcase, covers or original music
- A capella

REGISTRATION
Registration is $25-$100 plus fees. Application deadline is April 7, 2025. No refunds available after April 7, 2025. Fee includes registration, performance slot, clinician slot, optional songwriting session, and evening concert admission. Performance schedule for registrants will be available in the days leading up to the contest.
COMPETITION DAY SCHEDULE
1-2 pm - Workshop presented by CCC Faculty and Guest (optional)
2-6 pm - Garage Band Competition performances, followed by clinic/critique
7:30 pm - Concert featuring the competition winner, CCC's Contemporary Music Ensemble, and guest artists. Concert is open to the public, admission $10. (Cash/card at the door, or reserve in advance via Eventbrite.)
EQUIPMENT
Bands must use CCC's backline: bass amp, 2 guitar amps, drumset (4 piece set with hardware), 3-4 channels of DIs for keyboard/acoustic guitar. Specify any other needs during registration. See FAQ section for more details.
