Tree Corps: Miantonomi Park

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to help care for Newports largest urban forest. This critical woodland is currently under dire threat from invasive understory species. Roughly 80% of the parks area consists of mature forest, mostly comprised of invasive species such as English oak (Quercus robur), Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica), bittersweet (Solanum dulcamara), multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora) and other dense, hard to remove shrubs which are taking over the woodlands.

Join NTC to prunce, mulch, and care for the native trees at Miantonomi to ensure the health and longevity is entact in Newport's largest urban forest for generations to come.

Volunteers receive NTC T-shirts. Tools will be provided, and experience is not necessary.

Please dress for the weather. Bring your own water, gloves and snacks. No open-toed shoes.
