The World in Words: The Poetry & Pedagogy of Democracy

Explore the world making possibilities of poetry! The Furious Flower Poetry Center and the Center for the Liberal Arts will present two pedagogical resources for teachers. The Furious Flower Syllabus Project introduces poetry to students in a way that emphasizes creativity and history. Teaching Literature for Liberty is designed to help teachers offer instruction that reflects a variety of American experiences. Both projects have been developed with significant teacher input. Creative activations provide the opportunity for teachers to engage from inside the creative work and to provide them with ideas/texts for them to model with their classes.
