About this Event
Part of Talking Chester — a full day of talks, films and Q&As at Chester Picturehouse on Saturday 23rd May.
The arrival of a band of Vikings from Dublin on the Wirral is one of the most overlooked chapters in English history — yet it's said to have played a hand in King Edward of Wessex securing his throne and boosting Chester's importance as a trading centre.
Join Alfarr Bjartrssen and Skarde Bjornson to set the Viking settlements around Chester in their historical context, explore what daily life looked like for a 10th-century Viking, and get up close with replica artefacts from the era.
Chester Picturehouse, Screen 4.
Doors Open: 13pm, seating is unreserved.
Cancellation Policy: Please notify us in advance if you are unable to attend this event. Tickets are limited and could be transferred to another person with notice. Love our Heritage – let’s share it with everyone.
