The Trail State - Documentary Premiere
About this Event
At its heart is Missouri’s 237-mile Katy Trail—once an abandoned rail line, now a thriving connection between people, places, and possibility. Its success has inspired a new generation of trails, from the grassroots-driven Rock Island Trail in Kansas City to St. Louis’s Brickline Greenway.
Through these stories, The Trail State explores how Missouri is leading the way in proving that trails are more than recreation—they are economic lifelines, conservation tools, and bridges to a more connected future.
After the screening (56 minutes), stay for a brief conversation with filmmaker and director Chris Ryan and MHS Associate Public Historian Darby Ratliff.
Arrive early for our Happy Hour and to explore the Museum’s exhibits and community resource tables, enjoy food and drinks for purchase, and hear some live music by singer-guitarist Chloe Hoecker.
