Stop Memorizing Steps and Start Feeling the Connection. Master the Art of Argentine Tango This Summer—Even If You Have "Two Left Feet."

Join the Tango Academy: The Only Connection-First Program for Seattle Dancers of All Levels

Let’s be honest: Most dance classes are a nightmare of counting steps in your head while feeling totally disconnected from your partner. You worry about looking awkward, forcing your body into "unnatural" poses, or—worst of all—that "two left feet" feeling. You’re tired of trying to "get it right" and ending up frustrated.

If you want a different approach, where quality vs. quantity gives you real results…

WELCOME TO THE TANGO ACADEMY!

Imagine this:

What if tango changed YOUR LIFE?

What if tango could change how you do life?

Not just feeling confident dancing with any partner, in any room, but having that confidence spill into your whole life.

Standing taller. Moving differently. Even pushing your shopping cart like you mean it.

Going out with friends, dancing socially, and actually enjoying it.

Travelling to Buenos Aires or anywhere in the world and holding your own on the dance floor.

And along the way, becoming part of a community of fiery, fascinating humans!

This is what tango has done for so many people.

That’s what we do in the TANGO ACADEMY!

ABOUT THE TANGO ACADEMY

Inside The Tango Academy you will…

  • get comfortable with the embrace and connection
  • learn how to walk two as one to “get” the foundation of tango — not just memorize steps
  • learn classic tango elements to start/continue your tango journey

What you’ll learn:

Level 1:

👉 You’ll be able to comfortably dance a tango at a social, with basic elements of walking, turning (giros), ochos and the follow's cross

Level 2:

👉 You’ll be fine-tuning various elements and dynamics in your walk, perfecting your turning energy with various class giros (turns), and learn 3+ sacadas in a congruent/whole-body way to spice up your tango

The Tango Academy is perfect for people who…

  • want a strong foundation — not just random moves
  • have two left feet, no rhythm, have never taken a dance class or “flunked” out of tango
  • have movement/dance experience, but are new to tango
  • are looking to re-visit the basics to get a stronger, connection-focused foundation
  • for Level 2, are looking to deepen their tango skills and knowledge by pushing themselves to more complicated social tango elements

What if you could dance tango comfortably with anyone on any dance floor?

Without:
memorizing endless steps
overthinking every movement
feeling stiff, awkward, or disconnected
forcing your body into positions that don’t feel natural

I get it…
You have tried tango before and it didn’t go well.
“You aren’t a dancer” and are convinced you have two left feet
Being so close sounds and feels scary

Maybe you’ve tried…

And you are so tired of trying to get it right, in the right order…you end up so frustratedBetween memorizing the steps, trying to look graceful, and trying to not feel totally awkward with your partner… You have serious doubts that you have the poise & elegance to be successful at tango

And yet…there is a part of you that is deeply intrigued by and drawn to the idea of dancing tango… and the embrace, oh the embrace!

You can have a delicious, comfortable-feeling embrace, too!
Join THE TANGO ACADEMY beginning June 18th!

TESTIMONIALS

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT GABRIELA's TEACHING...

"The easiest, and yet most compelling dance class I've ever been to in my life." — Nancy

"It's out of the head, and into more of a movement or a flow." — Nathan

FAQs

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing or dress it up. The important thing is shoes: wear shoes that allow you to pivot/spin (i.e., do not grip the floor), that are secure on your feet (i.e., no flip-flops), and that you can walk comfortably in. If in doubt, feel free to bring an extra pair with you. You can also turn almost any comfortable shoe into a dance shoe by placing an old sock over the front half of the shoe. This should allow you to pivot easily.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No need to print your ticket; once you register you'll be on the list!

What's the refund policy?

No refunds. However, the class slot is transferrable to someone who will dance the same role (follow or lead) as the original registration. Contact [email protected] with details no later than June 15, 2026.

How can I contact the organizer with questions?

Contact 206-778-3239 or [email protected] with any questions.
